A few more options and features and companies like Pinnacle might start thinking about filing an anti-trust suit against MS, lol Publishing (Encoding) is a bit slow, takes 19 mins to convert a DVR-MS file edited (MPEG-2 video, MPEG-1 audio) that is roughly 22 min recorded program. Or is that slow? Personally I don't know, I did very little encoding on my old machine (Dell Pent 4 2.3Ghz, Non-HT) which was dirt slow depending on file size of course. My newest rig (AMD 5000+ BE 3.0Ghz Dual Core) is shhhh fast to be fair to the older machine, so encoding should be faster regardless. You don’t need to be connected to the Internet to use Office applications, such as Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint, because the applications are fully installed on your computer. However, Internet access is required to install and activate all the latest releases of Office suites and all Office 365 subscription plans. For Office 365 plans, Internet access is also needed to manage your subscription account, for example to install Office on other PCs or to change billing options. Internet access is also required to access documents stored on OneDrive, unless you install the OneDrive desktop app. You should also connect to the Internet regularly to keep your version of Office up to date and benefit from automatic upgrades. If you don’t connect to the Internet at least every 31 days, your applications will go into reduced functionality mode, which means that you can view or print your documents but cannot edit the documents or create new ones. To reactivate your Office applications, reconnect to the Internet. Will I still have control of my documents with Office 365? Documents that you have created belong fully to you. You can choose to store them online on OneDrive or locally on your PC or Mac. If you cancel your subscription or it expires, you can still access and download all your files by signing in to OneDrive directly using the Microsoft account you used to set up Office 365. You do lose the additional storage that comes with your subscription, so you must save your files elsewhere or buy more OneDrive storage if your OneDrive account exceeds the free storage quota. When would my subscription start? If you have an active Office 365 Home subscription, you can share it with up to four members of your household. Each household member you share your subscription with can use any of your available installs on their PCs, Macs, iPads, Android tablets, Windows tablets, iPhones®, or Android phones, get an additional 1 TB of OneDrive storage, and manage their own installs from. To add someone to your subscription, visit and follow the onscreen instructions to add a user. Each person you add will receive an email with the steps they need to follow. Once they have accepted and completed the steps, their information, including the installs they are using, will appear on your My Account page. You can stop sharing your subscription with someone or remove a device they are using. What is “the cloud”? “The cloud” is a friendly way of describing web-based computing services that are hosted outside of your home or organization. When you use cloud-based services, your IT infrastructure resides off your property (off-premises), and is maintained by a third party (hosted), instead of residing on a server at your home or business (on-premises) that you maintain. With Office 365, for example, information storage, computation, and software are located and managed remotely on servers owned by Microsoft. Many services you use every day are a part of the cloud—everything from web-based email to mobile banking and online photo storage. Because this infrastructure is located online or “in the cloud,” you can access it virtually anywhere, from a PC, tablet, smartphone, or other device with an Internet connection. The intention of the SAT>IP Project is to make SAT>IP an international standard that can be widely implemented worldwide and compatible across manufacturers and operators. The SAT>IP protocol was developed jointly by the SAT>IP Project partners, satellite operator, UK broadcaster, and Danish TV software company Craftwork. Prototype SAT>IP equipment and the first certified SAT>IP converter was developed by Inverto Digital Labs, a Luxembourg-based Set Top Box and software designer. If this is your first experience with Rainmeter, then you're in the right place! Getting Started is a guide designed to walk you through the basics of setting up Rainmeter, using, customizing, and ultimately creating your own skins. Rainmeter allows you to display customizable skins on your desktop, from hardware usage meters to fully functional audio visualizers. You are only limited by your imagination and creativity. Rainmeter is a free, open-source desktop environment and customization tool. It lets you re-skin your Windows desktop with various themes and create real-time displays for everything from system resources to e-mail alerts, even the weather. It's built around customizable resource meters and desktop widgets similar to Windows gadgets, and it can integrate music and media players and files as well as Web-based resources like RSS feeds, video, and data streams. Since Rainmeter is an open-source project, you can download new skins online and even contribute your own creations. Rainmeter's themes are basically just.ini text files that tell the desktop how big this should be and what color that should be, much like desktop themes in Windows, but with more options for customizing and personalizing not only what the desktop shows but what it does. The online documentation includes instructions for programming themes directly from text files, too. We selected the Gnometer skin for starters; it installed some useful widgets on the desktop, including a digital clock with analog icon that shows a calendar when you hover or click; quick-access icons for drives and the Recycle Bin; and a nifty little system resource monitor that showed CPU, RAM, and SWAP in linear graphs and percentages. That's just the beginning, though. We right-clicked Rainmeter's System Tray icon, selected the theme's properties (which lets you change fonts and colors directly) and opened the Configuration Tool. This small dialog actually lets you customize every square inch and every pixel of the desktop; it even includes options to integrate uTorrent, Google features, and weather feeds. The Color Settings list color numbers and have customizable values and a link to an online color picker tool that lets you create colors and save them in Rainmeter. You can create as many different skins as you like and switch between them quickly and easily via the program's System Tray menu. We've seen lots of desktop enhancements, but Rainmeter is better than most. Newer versions of Windows offer a lot of desktop features, but it can be cumbersome to make all the small changes that Rainmeter does so easily. I just installed the upgrade to Skype and after 10 minutes I'm ready to go back to the previous version. I don't have time to mess around with trying to figure out where everything is and I don't like. Relaxing Sleep Music: Deep Sleeping Music, Relaxing Music, Stress Relief, Meditation Music ★68 - Duration: 3:00:22. Soothing Relaxation 79,108,464 views. Share this story Skype's development history is a bit checkered; a wide range of clients has been developed with disparate features and a lack of clarity over direction. This has been especially true on Windows, where two different clients were available—the 'Classic' client is a Win32 application that can trace its heritage back to the days before Microsoft bought Skype, while the 'modern' client shipped through the Microsoft Store—each with its own interfaces and features. Microsoft has finally, however, managed to more or less unify its Skype development across Windows, macOS, Linux, and the mobile apps. This effort was itself years in the making (we reported on it ), and with that work done, the company is at last working on new features. Today, the application allows video chat with screen sharing at up to 1080p with up to 24 people. Messaging now supports the convention of using @mentions in a group chat to alert users and file sharing works with files up to 300MB. It's also now easier to find historic shared media with a built-in gallery of media content. Coming, Microsoft is going to add integrated call recording (something that previously required ), read receipts to show when a message recipient has read a message, and of text and audio chat using the Signal protocol. Microsoft is also making Skype audio and video calls easier to integrate into streams such as those used on Mixer and Twitch. Means that streaming applications such as Xsplit and OBS can use a Skype call as an audio/video source. That means they can be overlaid on games or other content, just as is already done with webcam input. Call recording and (openly documented) encrypted messaging are long-overdue features, and as a Skype user, it's about time that Microsoft is finally making some meaningful improvements to the core application. The consolidation on a single version of the client should in theory enable a faster pace of development, because Microsoft is no longer in the position of having to develop each new feature multiple times—once each for the Win32 app, the modern app, and the mobile apps. The work coming this summer will put that theory into practice. There is, however, a price to pay for this: the traditional Win32 Skype client is being end-of-lifed and will not be supported beyond the end of August this year. Users of the Win32 client will have to upgrade to Skype 8.0 (the desktop version of the new unified app) in order to be able to continue to use the network. Gone are the days of twisting your radio dial back and forth in the hope of finding something that you want to listen to; the Internet has made it possible to listen to music of every genre from all over the world with just a few clicks. Radio Player Live is a Google Chrome extension that makes this process about as easy as it gets. If you like sampling music from all over the globe, it's a great addition to your browser. Like most Chrome extensions, Radio Player Live installs without any hassle, appearing as an icon to the right of the browser's address bar. From the Settings menu you can add radio stations from a gallery of over 300 choices, but the options don't end there; you can also add Internet radio stations manually or choose from thousands of other stations from Shoutcast, Radionomy, Goom Radio, and Mike's Radio World. We've often encountered Internet radio players that offer a huge selection of stations, only to find that many of the stations buffer indefinitely and never actually start playing music. We tried a variety of stations available through Radio Player Live, and only one station gave us this problem. We had fun trying out radio stations from all over the world, and the extension's layout made it easy to access our favorites and to look for new ones. We think that Radio Player Live is a great way for Chrome users to have access to endless amounts of music, and we recommend it. Why Use Audials? • 36,000 U.S. Stations sorted by state and genre • A total of 100,000 radio stations in MP3 and AAC format, and 260,000 podcasts, sorted by country and genre • Record entire programs and individual songs • On Air: See what’s currently playing, even before tuning in • Find radios that play your favorite artist right. |
